Our star mare, Hope in Your Heart (Dundeel x Hayaat) has taken out the Group III Angst Stakes on Everest Day in a thrilling finish at Royal Randwick on 15 October 2022; making this her second black type win back to back after taking out the Group III Tibbie Stakes on 16 September 2022.
“Trish” was paired with veteran jockey, Craig Williams for the Angst.
Trish jumped fairly from the gates and ended up about mid-field, albeit 3 wide. She had to do it tough for the run, being kept out wide for the trip.
Craig let her roll approaching the turn and produced her down the outside of the field for the run down the straight.
Trish showed an unbelievable will to win and great tenacity to loop the field and storm past the others to slam her head down right on the line, managing to hold off the closing Honey Creeper. She was simply too good and deserved another black type win to her name. She really has come into her own this preparation and is showing that she is really enjoying her racing.
Huge congratulations to her owner / breeders Alex & Deidre Iles. Mr and Mrs Iles always breed stunning and gutsy racehorses and it is such a great pleasure to be able to train for them.
