4/yo Pride of Dubai out of Munhro mare, The Gift has secured her Maiden Class win at Kembla Grange on 16 April 2022 over 1300 metres on a Heavy 10 surface. She had jockey, Winona Costin take the steer and they jumped from barrier 2.
The Gift jumped brilliantly from the inside draw and was able to hold a leading position on the rails after settling down.
She travelled well for Winona and, at the turn, Winona just held her together and kept pushing her through her gears.
The Gift had challengers breathing down her neck, but, to her credit, she was able to hold them off with a fantastic will to win, drawing just clear the last 50 metres and was able to secure her maiden win by just over 1 length to Golden Doubt in 2nd and Topple in 3rd.
We were thrilled with her win. She showed great control and discipline to knuckle down and do what she needed to do to keep the challengers at bay.
