Don Luigi, 5y/o gelding by Nicconi out of Witches Hat, strikes again, taking home the winning glory in the Moruya race over 1010 metres on 14 July 2023 with jockey Jess Del Frari on board.
What a horse he has been for the stable and to do it for such an awesome group of owners is really the icing on the cake! Now having taken his winning overs $213,000.00 (6 wins, 4 seconds and 8 thirds).
On his first up task at Moruya, Don Luigi ended up settling at the rear of the field. During the run, Jess was able to peel him off the rails in order for him to take the swoopers run down the outside and what a nail biting finish it was. He used up every blade of grass to sneak his nose down right on the line, bobbing out Kennedy Choice in 2nd and Gorush Lightning in 3rd.
Don Luigi has taken us on a wonderful ride so far, and we hope the next win is just around the corner.
