What a great treat it was to see 4y/o mare by Shamus Award out of a stable fav mare being Witches Hat. What a great producing mare she has been for the stable over the many years!
Maresca took home the chocolates after winning the 1000 metre Maiden race at Canberra aided by the talent of Jockey, Brock Ryan on 30 December 2022.
Maresca jumped beautifully from the inside draw and showed some lovely early speed to keep herself in a dominant leading position clear of the favourite.
It certainly was an easy watch, being a lovely sit and steer ride from Brock.
Maresca scooted away from the pack down the straight, showing a fantastic turn of foot and was able to hold off the challengers down the to line, beating home Rebel Love in 2nd and Frose in 3rd.
Huge congratulations to the wonderful group of owners. What great people you all are! Looking forward to her saluting again for you all.
