Congratulations to Proven Thoroughbreds and connections of Hedge Fund (4y/o Gelding by Winning Rupert out of Tree of Jesse) after he put his opponents to the sword in the SW-Maiden race at Kembla Grange on 28/3/2023. He was aided by a brilliant steer from quality jockey, Josh Parr, jumping from barrier 1.
it really was an easy race to watch. Lovely sit and steer ride from Josh. He jumped brilliantly and was able to take control of the race from the get-go. He was unbothered throughout the entirety of the race and looked full of running at the point of turning into the straight.
Josh steered him around the bend and Hedge Fund did it all so professionally during the run down to the post. He quickened nicely and skipped away for an impressive victory by about 4 lengths from Lipscani in 2nd and Silent Raindrops in 3rd.
This was an outstanding performance and our team could not be more proud of his efforts on the day.
From only 6 starts in his short career, he has notched up 1 win so far with 2 second placings and a third.
Hedge Fund’s future looks bright and we cannot wait to see where he can go on to from here.
