Our talented filly, Hope in Your Heart has secured her black type win after she was able to win the Group III Tibbie Stakes at Newcastle on Friday, 16 September 2022. Tim Clark took the ride on Hope in Your Heart (“Trish”).
Hopes were high for Trish after winning in sensational fashion in front of Frumos at Rosehill on 27 August 2022.
After the gates crashed back in the Tibbie, Trish jumped fairly with the pack, but shortly after, settled into a trailing position towards the end of the field. She looked to travel sweetly for Tim in the run. At about the 800 metre mark, she was flushed out three wide but was able to find a back to follow leading into the straight.
At the turn, Tim pushed the button and they commenced their run down the straight, being one of the widest runners of the field.
The tearaway leader down the straight, Riduna was the one for Trish to catch. She showed great heart and will to win and was able to get over the top of Riduna for a spectacular win!
We are so proud of Trish and where she has come to this preparation. She is a quality filly with the world at her feet.
Huge congratulations to her owner/breeders Deidre and Alex Illes. They have been long time owners with the stables and it is the greatest pleasure being able to bring them home a black type win with one of their own.
We have been fortunate enough to have trained a long list of the progeny from their mare, Hayaat, who has proven herself to be a successful broodmare – throwing the city winning likes of Heartlings, Heartlet and Tampering to name a few.
We are very excited to see where this mare can go over her career.
