Our cracking mare, Hope In Your Heart (Dundeel x Hayaat) has stormed home to win the 1400 metre Group 2 Guy Walter Proven Thoroughbred Stakes Race at Randwick on Saturday, 25 February 2023. Tim Clark was aboard “Trish” for the race.
We didn’t doubt for a second that Trish would put her best hoof forward, as she always does. We were thrilled with how she had come up for the preparation ahead and this was a lovely race to start off in.
Trish jumped well from the barriers and was able to put herself in a nice position about mid-field upon settling down. She looked to be travelling well for Tim and seemed comfortable during the run,
At the approach into the turn things however looked to be getting slightly tight around her and it appeared that she was to do some work to get herself into the right position.
With the great assistance and nerves of steel of Tim Clark, he was able to weave their way through the traffic in front and Trish showed a great will to win and pushed her way into the clear air for the rest of the run down the straight.
She showed a tremendous turn of foot and let down in a remarkable fashion to secure the win of the Group 2 Guy Walter Proven Thoroughbreds Stakes race, beating home Larkspur Run in 2nd position and Mustang Valley in 3rd.
It certainly wasn’t an easy win to watch and it was heart in your mouth stuff all the way down the straight, but our mare was simply too good.
We are so excited to see where Trish can go this preparation. We have high hopes for her but we know one thing is for sure and that is that she will lay it all on the line when asked to.
Huge congratulations to the Illes family for this win. We are sure there are many more to come for you guys and we are so happy to have this mare in our care.
