Our talented 5 y/o galloper, Tampering has won his second Midway on 13th November 2021. The race was over 1600 metres and was held on Newcastle’s Showcase Meeting being ‘The Hunter’ race day. Tampering had jockey Hugh Bowman on board for the ride.
After jumping positively from the gates, Hugh was able to get Tampering up in a handy position on the rails, just behind the leading duo. He took the sit behind the front runners which enabled him to switch off and not overdo it throughout the run.
Into the straight, Hugh kept Tampering on the rails. He kept doing his thing, building up momentum and showed great tenacity by pushing his way clear very close to the line. He drew away nicely towards the line, winning by about a length to Harvey’s Way in 2nd and Cream Rises in 3rd.
We are all so very proud of Tampering aka “Patrick”. He has grown into a lovely, strong animal. He has such a will to win and knows where the winning post is!
