Think it Over has run out of his skin, once again, to secure the win of the 2021 George Ryder Stakes over 1500 Metres at Rosehill Gardens on 27 March 2021.
The legendary Glen Boss took the ride once again. They jumped from barrier 8 and carried the weight of 59 kilograms.
Once again, “Sid” was overlooked in the market with punters able to secure some more juicy odds! He looked an absolute treat in the mounting yard, with Lizzie Jelfs making him a special mention from the yard at odds!
At the crash back of the gates, the field jumped evenly and Sid was able to be tucked in towards the rear of the field. He was able to hug the rails for the trip and get some lovely cover for the duration of the race.
Sid looked to travel comfortably for Glen and his action looked great. He looked relaxed which we were thrilled to see.
On approaching the turn, the heavens seemed to open as the field in front of him on the rails peeled out seemingly making way for Think it Over to truck up to the front runners.
Soon after the turn into the home straight, Glen asked Think it Over to level up his gears, which seemed sparked a fire in Sid. There was a small gap which ended up opening thankfully and Sid had to show his strong will to win and bravery to enable him push himself between horses and break into clear running to run down the leader which he ultimately did and at the same time holding off some wide swoopers, which he also did.
First off I would like to say how fantastic it is to see a horse always turn up and put his best hoof forward! He never runs a bad race and always has a ‘can do’ attitude.
We are all over the moon with his Group 1 success! He’s just continued to step up when we ask him to.
Thank you to Richard and Sid – Bylong Park for your support. Us all at the stables are thrilled to be able to make great things happen for, not only yourselves, but for us all to share in the ride together.
We wish you many more successes and are looking bright eyed to two weeks time at the Group 1 Doncaster Mile!!
