Aptly named, Skirmish, a 4y/o mare by Smart Missile, out of So You Leica, ticked off her first win for us at Goulburn on 23/8 in the Class 1 1400 metre race with jockey, Jay Ford taking the reins.
We were happy to see the mare get over the line and take home the win on this day. She ran into some traffic down the straight, but she was finally able to get some clear running and showed nice acceleration and grinded right down to the line in a ding-dong battle with Overshadow who placed second in a close finish.
We are super happy to take out this race with this mare. Thanks to my staff, as always, for having her at her best on the day. Congrats to her connections.
