Coming from humble beginnings, the $20,000 Trapeze Artist gelding, purchased from Widden Stud’s draft at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale, has now pocketed more than $330,000 in earnings from 6 wins and three minor placings from just 12 starts!
His latest win being the $200,000 – 2025 Listed Wagga Gold Cup over 2000 metres with his regular jockey, Jay Ford taking the ride.
Flying Bandit was afforded a superb run during the race, he was allowed to switch off and find himself a nice rhythm, saving all his energy for the run down the straight!
Although a test on the day, Flying Bandit proved too classy in the end and was able to secure his first listed win from Bianco Vilano and Matusalem.
This win was a massive thrill for us all here at the stables, our first Wagga Gold Cup runner for our first winner.
This gelding is an exciting prospect for us, it makes all those early, tiring mornings that little bit easier to get through when you know you have another quality athlete to attend to. So, I want to extend my thanks and congratulations to my staff on all their hard work. It’s great when it all pays off!
Thanks to Jay for another brilliant ride on Flying Bandit and our congratulations go to Proven Thoroughbreds and his connections for another super win. Flying Bandit has his hoof on the till, waiting for his next assignment. We wish his connections the very best of luck and can’t wait to see where his ability can take him..
