On Saturday 9 April 2022 at Royal Randwick, our star galloper, Think It Over (Sid) took out the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes taking home in excess of $2.4 million dollars in prize money – which now brings his total winnings to over $7 million dollars. The race was arguably the hottest field of superstar racehorses lining up to come together and put on a show for the season, and what a show it was!
Think It Over and legendary jockey, Nash Rawiller teamed up again for the race. They jumped from barrier 4 and carried 59 kilograms on the trying Heavy 10 surface.
You could have easily written off Think It Over’s chances on such a bog track with him showing no wet form leading up to the race. All of us here at the stables knew this statistic, but we never lost faith that he could pull it off.
As per usual, Think It Over jumped positively and was able to roll up on the outside and park a spot outside the race leader, Zaaki. Nash took advantage of the good barrier and was able to make sure he was able to give Think It Over every chance to win coming down the straight.
Into the straight, Nash revealed his masterful plan, and him and the horse made a B-line towards the outside rail, right in front of the crowd for all to see and what a stroke of genius it was! Nash got Think It Over to the fresh part of the track which seemed to slingshot Think It Over forwards and slowly but surely he managed to wear down the sole leader, Zaaki, with basically no other challengers making any ground from the back of the pack to even come close.
It really was a remarkable win and a ride that will go down in history!
Thank you to jockey, Nash Rawiller. It really was such a memorable ride.
Everyone at the stables is buzzing with excitement and are extremely proud of what this horse has managed to achieve and where he is taking us for the ride. Thank you to my staff – I say this every time – but you really are the backbone of how this success is achieved.
Think It Over has now gone for a well-deserved spell at Jazcom Equine and has a big and bright next campaign in front of him.
Huge congratulations to his owner / breeder, Richard Johnston on this monumental win. We cannot thank you enough for your ongoing loyalty and support!
And lastly, thank you to every one for all their well-wishes and messages of congratulations. I really means a lot to us all. Photo courtesy to Bradley Photographers.
