Porky Pies Ticks off his Maiden Win at Home Track

May 23, 2018

Porky Pies won the 2000 metre Class 1 Set Weights race at Kembla Grange on 17 May 2018, jumping from barrier 10 with jockey, Jeff Penza taking the ride.

Porky Pies, affectionately known as "Teddy", jumped well from the wide barrier and showed enough early speed to take a leading position, together with Ollie The Third.  Teddy seemed to travel keenly for Penza who let him roll into a forward position, really stringing the field out for the journey.

Teddy travelled nicely into the home turn and, upon straightening, Penza commenced his urgings for Teddy to keep grinding away, and he did just that.  The field could not catch him and Teddy secured a fantastic maiden win on his home soil, winning by about 3 lengths to Saint Katarina and Ollie The Third.

All at the stables are thrilled with Teddy's win and we would like to extend our congratulations to our fantastic owners, Deidre and Alex.  Hopefully many more wins in store for Teddy.
