Stratum Charge Wins at Kembla Grange in Impressive Style

Mar 28, 2018

3 year old filly Stratum Charge has shown impressive class winning her Maiden at Kembla Grange on 24 March 2018 in the 1200 metre Maiden race.

Conditions were tough on the day with the track rated a Heavy 8.  'Stella' was the short priced favourite for the race, jumping from barrier 6, carrying 58kgs, with jockey Jon Grisedale taking the ride.  Stella jumped sweetly from the gates and found herself within the front of the pack, however, she was kept deep for the initial part of the journey.  Not too long after though, Jon was able to slot in and find a position at about the 900 metre mark.

With baited breath at the turn, there didn't seem to be a run open to her, but before the 300 metre mark, Stella got in to clear running and Jon was able to let the talented filly do her thing.  She chased down the leading pair, winning by almost a length to Bell Serenade and Better Take Cover.

Huge congratulations to all the happy owners of Stella.  Hopefully big things to come for this class filly.
