The Houso Wins on Debut at Moruya

Dec 01, 2017

The Houso won his debut race at Moruya on 21 November 2017 in race 5 being a 920 metre Maiden (SW) under the guidance of Jeff Penza, jumping from barrier 2.

Weighted with 59 kilograms, the Houso jumped well from the barriers and co-lead for the first part of the journey.

At the turn, 5 horses straightened up to run out the conclusion of the race.  The Houso showed impressive heart to kick under the heavy weight and took the lead at about the 50 metres to win by half a length to the swoopers coming at him from out wide.

The Houso is a tiny horse but has a huge heart which was clearly evidenced in his winning run at Moruya.  He has a great attitude and is well liked in the stables.

Thank you Jeff for a fantastic ride.

We would like to send out a big congratulations to The Houso's many owners who have been extremely patient to date, following an early injury with the horse. We are delighted to get you guys a win first up.  Hopefully many more to come.
